Bobby J. Dugan, 89, of Berwick, formerly of Shumantown, passed away Sunday afternoon, February 5, 2023, at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, following a lengthy battle with Parkinson's disease.
Born in Shumantown, December 27, 1933, he was the son of the late Michael and Adda (Witchey) Dugan and spent the past seven years in Berwick, after moving from Shumantown.
Bobby graduated from Beaver Twp. High School class of 1952. He was a Sample Dyer for Bloomsburg Mills, Bloomsburg; having retired after 50 years of service. He was a member of St. Peters United Church of Christ, Beaver Twp. where he had served as an Elder and Deacon. He was also a member of Moose Lodge Post #623, Bloomsburg; and a lifetime social member of the Beaver Twp. Fire Co. He enjoyed spending his time fishing and reading and was an avid Philadelphia Phillies fan.
He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by his twin siblings, Donald and Donna Dugan.
Surviving are his loving wife of 58 years, the former Shirley Gordner, to whom he was married on October 10, 1964; in Orangeville; a brother-in-law, Chester Gordner and wife Patricia, Berwick; several nieces and nephews including Michelle Hotchkiss and husband Rob, Christine Campos and husband Cesar, Cynthia Gordner, and Jody Hutchings, two great-nieces, Rachel Walsh and Marina Bryan; two great-nephews, Christopher Gordner and David Walsh; and five great-great-nieces and nephews, Nevaeh, Ryland, McKayle, Kambree and Ellamae.
His funeral will be held with a Memorial Service on Friday, March 17,2023, at 2 PM in St. Peter's UCC Church, Beaver Twp. Interment will follow in Harger's Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 1 to 2 PM. Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc. (West), 1265 Rock Glen Road, Rock Glen, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
