Beth Olenick Obituary

Beth "Beaux" A. Olenick, 52, of Avoca, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 8, 2024, at her residence.

Born in Hazleton, April 3, 1972, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Barbara T. (Maylath) Olenick and spent the past several years in Avoca, after moving from Pittson. Receiving sacraments at St. John Bosco Church, she was a member of the Catholic faith. She was a 1990 graduate of West Hazleton High School.

Beth was a secretary for VFW Post #8335 Avoca and VFW Post #4909 Dupont and had been a waitress at Perkins Family Restaurant, Pittston, and worked at Evans Roadhouse, Drums. Beth was an extremely hard worker who loved serving others, always doing so with generosity and warmth. She enjoyed spending her free time gardening and tending her rose bushes like her dad, making crafts, baking, and making the best pirohi you have ever tasted. She loved her family very much, ensuring that her loved ones felt cherished and supported, and making sure every family member knew they were loved. Beth devoted much time to her Slovak heritage and family traditions. Holidays were a favorite time of year, spending time around the table with family. She loved making her mother's recipes and cooking from scratch, and often delivered a homemade dish of haluski or pirohi to someone going through hardship, bringing comfort and joy to those around her.

She journeyed through life, the good and the bad, always with a smile and a loving heart! Beth always looked on the optimistic side of things. She would turn every tough position into a positive outlook. Beth would give you whatever she had. Her generosity was for everyone. She cared for her mother during her illness with unending love. She was very appreciative of her neighbors and helped them in whatever way she could. Beth was a friend to everyone. You could trust her, and when speaking to her, Beth was focused on you, and you knew she was truly listening and heard you. Her big heart knew no bounds. No matter her circumstances, she wanted to help you improve yours.  Her endless compassion brightened everyone's day, and she will always be loved and missed immensely!

Surviving are her loving son, Justin Simms and his companion Kaci Ritter, Frackville; a grandson, Spencer Simms; five siblings, Barbara Sissick and her husband Thomas, McAdoo; John Olenick and his wife Robin, Hazleton; Michael Olenick and his wife Jeanine, Allentown; Ann "Cookie" Olenick, Sugarloaf; and Mary Price and her husband Jon, Ephrata; her companion, Teddy Wielgopolski and his children Jake and Jude Wielgopolski; nieces and nephews, Krystina Sissick, Sierra Olenick, Michael Olenick, Barbara Price, and Lorell Price; her beloved dog Buddy; and many cousins, aunts and uncles.

Her funeral will be held with a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, December 13, 2024, at 10 AM in Saint John Bosco RC Church, 573 PA-93, Sugarloaf.  Burial will follow in Calvary RC Cemetery, Drums. Friends may call at the church on Friday morning from 9 AM until the time of the Mass. Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc. (East), 669 W.
