Beth Ann (Young) Gabel, 46, of Freeland, passed away Tuesday evening, February 18, 2025, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - 17th & Chew Street in Allentown, following a courageous battle with ALS.
Born in Hazleton, December 29, 1978, she was the daughter of Dennis D. Young, Bloomsburg; and the late Sally Raye (Hoffman) Young and spent the past 19 years in Freeland, after moving from Bloomsburg.
Beth graduated from Hazleton Area High School class of 1996. She then went on to attend Penn Tech College, Williamsport and graduated from Penn State University-Hazleton in 2006 where she obtained her bachelor's degree. Most recently she was employed as an occupational counselor for Career Link, Hazleton. She was also a substitute at MMI Preparatory School, Freeland; had worked for Luzerne County Children and Youth, had waitressed at the Powerhouse Eatery, White Haven; and at Le Jeune Chef Restaurant, Williamsport; and had provided child care to a special needs child who lived in Lake Harmony. Beth was a mentor to other people with ALS, enjoyed painting, arts and crafts, tending her flower beds, and attending her children's sporting events.
Surviving in addition to her father, are her loving husband, William Gabel to whom she was married on August 15, 2015; two sons, Corrigan Nolasco, Bloomsburg; and Kaiden Nolasco, Freeland; a brother, Duane Young and his companion Vanessa Cook, Bloomsburg; an uncle, several aunts and many cousins also survive.
Services for Beth will be held with a Memorial Visitation on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, from 6 to 8 PM in Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (East), 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums. A celebration of life will be held in the spring at the convenience of her family.
