Barbara J. Gadola, 75, of Hazle Township, passed away Wednesday afternoon, February 10, 2021 at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Cedar Crest, Allentown, following a brief illness.
Born in Hazleton, September 14, 1945, she was the daughter of the late John and Madeline (Mattie) Opilla and spent the past 54 years in Hazle Township, after moving from Upper Lehigh.
Barbara was a retired Bookkeeper, having most recently worked the Hazleton Area School District. In her younger years, she was a member of 4-H and enjoyed riding and tending to horses. She enjoyed bowling, camping, painting, and arts and crafts. She also enjoyed vacations to the beach, especially Assateague Island. She was an avid fan of NASCAR, especially Dale Earnhardt Sr. and the New York Yankees.
Surviving are her husband of the past 54 years, Joseph Gadola, Sr.; a son Joseph Gadola, Jr., Nesquehoning; a daughter Andrea Gardeaux, Hazle Township; a sister Christine Herbener, Macungie; four grandchildren Madison, Ariel, Joey, and Sophia; several nieces and nephews; and her three cats, Samantha, Jude, and Arya, which she lovingly refered to as her grandkittys.
Her funeral will be held privately at the convenience of the family from Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (East) 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums.
