Arthur Roy Krieger, of Sugarloaf, PA, passed away at the age of 88 on Thursday morning, February 6, 2025, at The Manor at St. Luke Village in Hazleton, following a lengthy illness.
Born in Drums, PA on January 9, 1937, he was the son of the late Daniel Earl and Mildred H. (Bach) Krieger and spent the past 59 years in Sugarloaf, after moving from Drums.
Arthur was a US Army veteran having served from 1958 to 1961. After basic training he was assigned to a Signal School, (radar course in electronics), at Ft. Monmouth, NJ. He spent two years in Germany with the 630th Ordnance Company under the V Corps, 7th Army. After the Army, he worked for Sentinel Electronics Co. in Hazleton as an inspector/tester starting in April of 1962. He retired in January 1999 as a Production Manager for Magnetic Windings in Easton, PA. He was a member of the Black Creek United Methodist Church in Sugarloaf. Arthur was an avid freshwater fisherman, woodworker, and gardener. Along with his hobbies, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by an infant daughter, Lori Jane Krieger, and a brother, Daniel Otto Krieger.
Surviving are his loving wife, the former Lois Jane Stauffer, to whom he was married for 59 years; two sons, Arthur D. Krieger and wife Zabad and their six children, Daniel, Lois and husband Justin Pierzga, Sarah, Christa, Helen, and Jacob Krieger of Danielsville, PA; and Eric D. Krieger of Sheppton, PA; and several nieces.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025, from 9 AM until the service at 10 AM at the Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (West), 1265 Rock Glen Road, Rock Glen, PA. Burial will follow in the Sky-View Memorial Park, Tamaqua, PA.
