April O. Mazzola, 71, of Drums, passed away Friday, April 3, 2026, at Mountain Top Health Care and Rehabilitation Center following a lengthy illness.
Born in Rock Glen, December 20, 1954, she was the daughter of the late George and Jean (Houser) Dimitro and spent the past 41 years in Drums.
April graduated from Hazleton Career Center and was a hairdresser for over 20 years, working at Lantern Lane and out of her shop at home. She then became a devoted mother and homemaker to her family. She was a member of Black Creek United Methodist Church, Sugarloaf and was President of Rittenhouse Place and Drums Land Company. In her free time, she enjoyed tending and caring for her flower garden and working at her salon.
Surviving are her devoted husband, John Mazzola, to whom she was married on August 3, 1986; son, Giovanni Mazzola, Hazleton; step-daughter, Amy Branger, Amsterdam; step-son, Joseph Mazzola, Drums; granddaughter, Georgia Klein, Hollywood, CA; sister, Cathy Hinkle, Rock Glen; and several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held with a Memorial Service on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at 12:30 PM from Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (East), 669 West Butler Drive, Drums. Burial will follow in Mt. Grove Cemetery, Sugarloaf. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 11 AM until the time of the service.
