Angeline Baran Obituary

Angeline F. Baran, 92, of Hazleton, passed away late Thursday evening, July 17, 2025, at The Manor at St. Luke Village in Hazleton, following a two-month illness.

Born in Hazleton, September 5, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Rocco and Frances (Belicki) Vitacco and spent most of her life in Hazleton.

Angeline was a graduate of Hazleton High School class of 1950. In her younger years, she was employed in the garment industry. In 1978 she obtained her LPN from Hazleton Area Vo-tech School. After graduating she worked as a private duty nurse, and for a local family physician in Hazleton. Angeline was a member of St. John's Byzantine Catholic Church, Hazleton. She adored playing Bingo, with some even calling her a professional, and would play twice a week at St. John's Byzantine Church and the Elks Lodge. She was an avid reader, finishing three books a week, loved watching her Phillies baseball and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her stepfather, James Vitacco; her loving husband, Michael Baran, Jr., who passed away December 23, 2023; three brothers and two sisters. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Surviving are four children, Michael Baran, Sugarloaf; Deborah Baran Sidari, Hazleton; James Baran and his wife Lori, White Haven; and Anthony Baran and his wife Kim Martini Baran, Drums; 12 grandchildren, Alicia Sidari and her husband Randy Wysocky, John Sidari, Jr. and his wife Melissa, Nina Temchatin and her husband Chris, Leah Baran and her companion Chris Burns, Michael Jared Baran, Kaley Baran, Tara Baran McGeehan and her husband Brenden, Toni Baran, Scott Michael Baran, Dawn Fisher and her husband Jeff, Olivia Martini and Owen Haslam, nine great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Louise Baran, Conyngham and several nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc. (East), 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
