William E. Wolfe, Sr., 74, of Sugarloaf passed away Tuesday evening at Celtic Hospice, Wilkes-Barre.
Born in Hazleton, May 16, 1944, he was the son of the late George and Florence (Kay) Wolfe and had spent most of his life in the Sugarloaf Valley.
William was the owner and operator of W. E. Wolfe Trucking, Sugarloaf. He was an Army veteran during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Black Creek United Methodist Church, Sugarloaf, and a member of Elysburg Masonic Lodge No. 349 Free & Accepted Masons, Elysburg. William especially loved spending time with family and friends he also enjoyed antique tractors, motorcycles, and auto racing.
Surviving are five children, William E. Wolfe, Jr., and his wife Jennifer, Nescopeck; Diane Lowery and her husband Keith, Drums; Marcia McConnell and her husband Patrick, Troy; Kevin Wolfe and his wife Jessica, Sugarloaf; and Melanie Wolfe and her fiancée Jonathan Danish, McAdoo; his former wife, Marilyn Wolfe, McAdoo; 10 grandchildren, Victoria and her husband Zachery, Olivia, Keith, Jr., Kaitlyn, Madison, Kaden, Mya, Alexxis, Aurora, and Ethan; a brother, Dale Wolfe and his wife Joyce, Bloomsburg; his longtime companion, Sandra Fry, Sugarloaf; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
His funeral will be held Saturday at 10:00 am from Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (West), 1265 Rock Glen Road, Rock Glen, with his pastor Rev. Gene Boyer officiating. Burial will follow in Black Creek U.M. Cemetery, Sugarloaf. Friends and family may call at the funeral home Friday evening from 6-8pm.
