Thomas W. Price, Jr., 79, of Sugarloaf, passed away Wednesday evening at his home.
Born in Hazleton, July 10, 1938, he was the son of the late Thomas W. and Katherine (Sauers) Price, Sr. and spent the past 40 years in Sugarloaf after moving from West Hazleton.
He was the proprietor of Price Insurance Agency and Realty, and was a member of Hazle-Azalea Fellowship Lodge #327, Hazleton. He served as an MP with the US Army Reserves and was a member of American Legion Post #473, Freeland. He enjoyed working on antique cars and was a member of the Antique Automobile Club of America.
Tom was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by his wife the former Claire Gallagher; and a sister Ruth Louise Bell.
Surviving are a step-son Danny Gallagher, Pittsburgh; and several cousins including his caregiver Marbeth Rudolph, Plains.
His funeral will be held Wednesday at 10:30 am from Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (East) 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums. The Rev. Michael Stein, of Forty Fort United Methodist Church will officiate the services. Burial will follow in Hazleton Vine Street Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday 6-8 pm.
