Sally E. Pursell, 68, of Conyngham, passed away at her residence Tuesday morning surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Hazleton, August 12, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Elwood and Creola (Fisher) Hoffman, Sr., had spent all of her life in the Conyngham Valley.
Sally had recently retired from her role as the owner and operator of Sally Pursell’s Country Inn, Sugarloaf which she had operated for over 50 years.
She was a member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, Conyngham, and was an avid supporter of many youth sports teams and various activities throughout the Conyngham Valley Region. Sally was an avid Penn State Football, and Wrestling fan and enjoyed going to the movies, taking beach trips, and above all shopping with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her first husband, Frank “Bill” Pursell, second husband, James Gallagher, and two brothers Edward, and Dennis Hoffman.
Surviving are three sons, Shawn Pursell and his wife Eileen, Conyngham; Kevin Pursell and his wife Lori, Sugarloaf; and Heath Pursell and his wife Rebecca, Conyngham; three grandchildren, William, Rylie, and Heath Pursell; one step-grandson, Jake Maurer; brothers and sisters, Sherry Stauffer and her husband Gary, Zion Grove; Elwood Hoffman, Jr., Fern Glen; Charles Hoffman, Drums; Sharon Schell and her husband Thomas, Zion Grove; Tammy Nelson and her husband John, Alabama; David Hoffman and his wife Darlene, Sheppton; and Charlene Hoffman, Fern Glen. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held Friday, February 22 at 10 AM from Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (East), 669 West Butler Drive, Drums. Burial will follow in Conyngham Union Cemetery, Conyngham. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday, February 21, from 5-8 PM.
