Melissa A. (Demko) Molinaro

Melissa A. Molinaro, 58, of Hazleton, passed away Tuesday afternoon at her home following a lengthy battle with cancer.

Born in Hazleton, March 21, 1959, she was the daughter of John and Nella (Pauline) Demko, Hazleton and spent her entire life in Hazleton.

Melissa was a 1981 graduate of Wilkes University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and worked as Same Day Surgery Nurse for Lehigh Valley Hospital-Hazleton.  She was a member of Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society and loved to read, travel to NYC to see her sons, and travel to Ocean City, MD.  She loved life and was a selfless caregiver to everyone she touched. She was a member of Queen of Heaven Parish at Our Lady of Grace Church, Hazleton, where she was a CCD Teacher and was active in the parish picnic.

Surviving in addition to her parents, are her husband Angelo C. Molinaro, to whom she was married 34 years on April 9th, two sons Gregory, Astoria, Queens, NY; and Daniel, Manhattan, NY; two sisters Sharon Kello, and her husband Paul, Harrisburg; and Pamela Hay and her husband Jody, Birmingham, AL; and nieces and nephews Julia Kello, Madeline, Ryan, and Evan Hay.

Her funeral will be held Saturday at 10 am with a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial in Queen of Heaven Parish at Our Lady of Grace Church, 750 N. Vine Street, Hazleton.  Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, 49 S. Hunter Highway, Drums.  Friends may call Friday evening 7-9 pm at Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (East) 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums.  A Christian Wake Service will be held Friday evening.
