Louis D. Laning, III.

Louis D. Laning, III, 65, of Conyngham passed away Saturday afternoon at Celtic Hospice and Home Health in Wilkes-Barre.

Born in Philadelphia on October 1, 1951, he was the son of the late Barbara (Mattice) and Louis D. Laning, Jr. and had spent the last 11 years in Conyngham after moving from Hazleton.

Louis was a member of Masonic Lodge #462 in Berwick.  He was employed as a painter at the PA State Department of Corrections SCI in Frackville.

Surviving are his loving wife, the former Debra Kleckner, with whom he would have celebrated 10 years of marriage on July 28, 2017; two daughters, Valerie Laning-Barna and her companion Tom Everett, Mt. Top; Ronna Jaffin and her husband Matt, Berwick; two grandchildren, Abigail and Ryan Barna; two sisters, one brother, a brother-in-law, John Kleckner and his wife Cheryl, Salem OR; a sister-in-law, Cathy Kleckner, Hazleton; and several nieces and nephews.

All services are private and will take place at the convenience of the family.  Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory (East), 669 W. Butler Dr., Drums is assisting the family with arrangements.
