Kathleen A. Conway

Kathleen A. Conway, 64, of Tamaqua, passed away Tuesday evening at Mountaintop Senior Care  & Rehabilitation Center, following a lengthy illness.

Born in Niskayuna, NY, September 20, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Matthew and Lucille (Potter) Conway and spent the past 15 years in Tamaqua after moving from Freeland.

Kathleen was a 1974 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a bachelor’s degree in Social Work and had worked at the Polk Center in Western Pennsylvania.  She suffered for many years with Rheumatoid Arthritis and was a supporter of the Arthritis Foundation.  She enjoyed completing crossword and word search puzzles, and in her younger years enjoyed skiing.

She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by a sister Suzanne Pope, who passed away in 2014.

Surviving are a sister Teresa Long and her husband Robert, Tamaqua; a brother-in-law David Pope, Tobyhanna; and a niece Karen Pope and her husband Carl, Tobyhanna.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 10 am in St. Richards Church, 799 Barnesville Drive, Barnesville.  Interment will take place privately at the convenience of the family.
