Joseph N. Chura, 82, of Drums passed away early Monday morning at his home following a two-week illness.
Born in West Hazleton, December 6, 1935, he was the son of the late Andrew and Helen (Schagen) Chura and spent the past 52 years in Drums after moving from West Hazleton.
Most recently, Joe had worked as the Maintenance Supervisor at Good Shepherd RC Church, Drums, where he was also a member. He was a US Army Veteran, had served with the Pennsylvania Mentor Program and enjoyed gardening.
Surviving are his brother Richard Chura and his wife Jo Ann, Drums.
Relatives and Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial, Friday at 10 am in Good Shepherd RC Church, 87 S. Hunter Highway, Drums. The Rev. Connell McHugh will celebrate the Mass. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Drums. Memorial donations to Good Shepherd RC Church, or the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
