John R. Ambruch, 81, of Weston, passed away Wednesday evening at his home.
Born in Fern Glen, July 4, 1935, he was the son of the late John and Mary (Felegie) Ambruch, and spent the past 54 years in Weston after moving from Fern Glen.
John worked as a self-employed carpenter. He was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War and a member of Sacred Heart RC Church, Weston. He was Past President of the Twin County Lions Club from 1975-1976 and was advisor to the clubs Leo Club, which was the first in District 14-H. He was the founder of the Twin County Baseball League and was a basketball coach for Weston and Rock Glen Junior High School.
He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by his wife the former Ann Clark, who passed away October 11, 2016; and a sister Veronica Puhak, January 1, 2017.
Surviving are three sons, Michael, Weston; John and his wife Annette, Weston; and Daniel and his fiancé Julie Peters, Zion Grove; two grandchildren Josh and Nicole; a sister Jean Ann Kyte, Hazleton; and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held Monday with a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am in Sacred Heart RC Church, 554 Main Street, Weston. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 9:30 am until the time of the Mass.
