Joan L. Hoppy, of Drums passed away late Thursday evening at Providence Place, Drums.
Born in Hazleton, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Margaret (Domin) Woloshin, Sr. and spent the past four years in Drums after moving from Hazleton.
Joan was a graduate of Hazleton High School and worked briefly at Tung-Sol, before spending most of her life as a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking and crafts including doll making and floral arranging. She had been a member of St. Mary’s B.C. Church, Hazleton and was a kind and loving soul, who cared for everyone.
She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her beloved husband Richard P. Hoppy, who passed away August 22, 2014; a sister Margaret Woloshin and a brother Michael Woloshin, Jr.
Surviving are a sister Eleanor Boyle, Middletown; two sisters-in-law Irene Snell and her husband Richard, Drums; and Loretta DeBalko, Drums; and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Monday at 10:30 am in Good Shepherd RC Church, 87 S. Hunter Highway, Drums. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Drums.
