George E. McGrath, 81, of Nescopeck, passed away Saturday, December 8, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving family following a year long illness.
Born in Plainfield Twp., PA, November 30, 1937, he was the son of the late James and Meda (Kilpatrick) McGrath and spent the past 29 years in Nescopeck, after moving from Nazareth.
George was a Laborer for Mack Printing, Easton and Quebecor, Hazleton. He was a member of Mt. Zion UCC Church, Briggsville. George was a lifetime member of the NRA and the North American Hunting Club. He enjoyed NASCAR and football.
He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by a sister Elsie Shrope.
Surviving are his loving wife, the former Nona R. Emery to whom he was married on April 29, 1989; a daughter, Charlene Bartholomew and her husband Dan, Midland, MI; a son, William "Bill" McGrath and his wife Beverly, Danielsville; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Sherwood McGrath and his wife Jeannette, Nazareth, and several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
