Evelyn L. (Prokipchak) Lapetina

Evelyn L. Lapetina, 75, of Drums, passed away early Sunday morning surrounded by her family at Good Shepherd Specialty Hospital, Muhlenberg following a nearly five month illness.

Born in Hazleton, July 24, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Majetski) Prokipchak and had lived 33 years in Drums after moving from Hazleton.

Evelyn was a 1961 graduate of McAdoo High School.  She loved riding with her husband on their motorcycle, boating and shopping.

She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by three brothers, John, Daniel and Paul Prokipchak.

Surviving are her loving husband, Louis Lapetina with whom she celebrated 45 years of marriage on May 19th; a daughter, Donata Taylor and her husband Mark, Fleetwood; four sisters, Joan Puza and her husband John, McAdoo; Patricia Castiglione and her husband Lorenzo, Mt. Top; Helen Roberts and her husband Ken, Drums; and Rita Faleshock, Hazleton; many nieces, nephews and friends also survive.

A memorial graveside service will be held Thursday at 10am in Calvary Cemetery, 49 South Hunter Highway, Drums.
