Edith Florence (Smith) Rothwell

Edith Florence Rothwell, 90, formerly of Conyngham, passed away, Monday, March 11, 2019 at the home of her daughter in Beaver Township, following a short illness.

Born in Jamestown, NY, January 6, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Fernando and Nancy (Wright) Smith. She had resided in the Conyngham Valley since 2005, She had also previously resided in Florida, and Diamond Avenue, Hazleton.

Edith had worked as a Nursing Home Administrator for several nursing homes. She was a member of Conyngham United Methodist Church and was active with many church organizations. She also enjoyed sewing.

She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her husband Rev. Wayne Howard Rothwell, who passed away in January, 2007; a daughter Sandra Levitsky, a son Brett, an infant son David, a brother Ed; and sisters Ellen, Evelyn, Elaine.

Surviving are a daughter Sharon Keck, and her husband Donald, Beaver Township; two sons Rodney Rothwell and his wife Patricia, Drums; and Steven Rothwell and his wife Linda, Towson, MD; a sister Marjorie Jones and her husband Fred, Chesnee, SC; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held Saturday at 10 am in Conyngham United Methodist Church, 411 Main Street, Conyngham. Burial will follow in Drums Community Cemetery. Friends may call at Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (East), 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums, Friday evening 6-8 PM.
