Constance Carole Halder was born September 11th, 1962 to John Lee Halder, Sr. and Constance Collier Halder in Brooklyn, New York. Connie died at home on April 22nd, 2017, she was 54 years old.
Connie was preceded in death by her mother Constance Collier Halder, her only brother John Lee Halder Jr., Uncle Carl Hagan Cherry Sr., and Aunts Sarah Inez Cherry and Carole Ann Cherry.
She is survived by her father John Lee Halder Sr., her loving son Eric Lee Wright, her daughter-in-law Sandra, her grandson Jay, an Uncle John William Cherry III., an Aunt Jenny Lula Cherry-Woode, eight first cousins, and many extended family and dear friends.
Connie spent most of her youth in Queens, New York, in a development named Rochdale. There she had many friends and was known for her beautiful appearance and affinity for sports cars. She graduated from August Martin High School in 1981. Connie married Curtis Edward Wright in 1985. Connie and Curtis had one son, Eric Lee Wright. Connie moved to Pennsylvania in 2001 to be closer to her brother John and aide in his care.
Connie had a love for children and worked with young people for many years. She held various positions working in the Hazleton Area School District for many years. She was weeks away from attaining her Master’s Degree in Secondary Education from Ashford University. She was known for her scrumptious cooking, delectable baking and LOVED seafood especially shrimp and lobster.
Most of all Connie was a wonderful mother to her son Eric and a magnificent grandmother to her grandson Jay, who both adored her. Eric is quoted as saying “My mother was the strongest person I know and her passion was loving my son Jay". Connie will be dearly missed by her friends and family.
Her funeral will be held Friday at 10 am from Harman Funeral Home & Crematory (East), 669 West Butler Drive, Drums. Friends and family are invited to call at the funeral home on Thursday from 6 to 8 pm. Interment will take place following the funeral service at Rosehill Cemetery in Linden, NJ.
