Amy Marie Kurtz, 53, of Weatherly, passed away Friday evening, November 2, 2018 at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, Allentown, following a lengthy illness.
Born in Kingston, January 13, 1965, she was the daughter of Robert Shimansky, Clifton, NJ and Mary (Schuler) Shimansky, Hanover Township and spent the past 10 years in Weatherly.
Amy was graduate of Kings College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. She had worked as a Detention Officer in Maricopa County, while residing in Arizona, Upon moving back to Pennsylvania she worked for Northeast Counseling and later as a customer service representative for PPL. She was a devoted wife. She treated everyone she met with dignity and respect. She was loved by many. She attended of Community Bible Fellowship Church. She enjoyed painting, kayaking, fishing, home canning, and visiting flea markets.
Surviving in addition to her parents, are her husband of the past 12 years, Andrew J. Kurtz; a son Ian Shimansky, Hanover Township; twins Ryan Thomas, his companion Aerial Webb, and her children, all of Montrose; and Erin Thomas, Hanover Township; a sister Beth Shimansky, Ashley; and a nephew Brendan.
Her Memorial Service will be held Saturday, November 10, 2018 at 10:30 am from Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (East) 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums. Interment will take place privately at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday morning from 9:30 am until the time of the service.
