Albert Joseph Wolk Sr., 83, of Sugarloaf, passed away, Monday evening, March 18, 2019 at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Hazleton following a sudden illness.
Born in Oneida, February 22, 1936, he was the son of the late Albert and Anna (Marhelko) Wolk and spent the past 59 years in Sugarloaf, Pennsylvania after moving from Oneida.
Albert was the Proprietor of Wolk's Landscaping and Tree Farm and had also worked for Valley Seeding, and Spaulding Bakery. He was a US Army veteran and member of St. John Bosco RC Church.
He enjoyed farming, riding on his tractor, attending his grandchildren's sporting events, and family gatherings. Albert was an avid outdoorsman, both for work and for pleasure. His favorite pastime was playing with his grandchildren at the Tree Farm during the holidays. In later years, he would follow his grandchildrens’ sports teams no matter how far he had to travel.
He was the best husband, father and grandfather that anyone could ever ask for! He made time for everyone and was always there to help whenever someone needed him. He will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by a brother Joseph.
Surviving are his wife, the former Marie Maylath, to whom he was married on May 21, 1960 in Hazleton; five children Mary Ann Trivelpiece, and her husband Vincent, Sugarloaf; Albert Wolk, and his wife Jackie, Sugarloaf; John Wolk, and his wife Lisa, Drums; James Wolk and his wife Wendy, Sugarloaf; and Ann Lagowy and her husband MIchael, Fogelsville; 15 grandchildren; Maria, Megan, Marissa Trivelpiece; Todd, AJ, Ryan, and Olivia Wolk; Lexi, John Jr., and Christopher Wolk; Jared, Madelaine, and Jillian Wolk, Michael and Madelyn Lagowy; and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held Thursday at 9:30 am from Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (East) 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums, folllowed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. John Bosco RC Church, 573 State Route 93, Sugarloaf. Burial will followi in Calvary Cemetery, Drums. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday morning from 8:30-9:30 AM.
