Wilma J. Stein, 95, of Sugarloaf, PA passed away early Tuesday morning, April 16, 2024 at Glen Brook Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Berwick, following a lengthy illness.
Born in Sugarloaf, PA on January 2, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Lester E. and Jennie (Gait) Welsh and spent the past 14 years in Sugarloaf, PA after moving from Irwin, PA.
Wilma was a Jewelry Clerk for Eger's Jewelry Store in Irwin, PA. She was a member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, Conyngham. She was also a Worthy Matron of the Irwin Chapter #400 of the Eastern Star and a member of the USS Columbia CL-56 Association. Wilma was a great seamstress and loved making crafts, especially cross stitch.
She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her loving husband, John Stein; brothers, Harold E., Walter and Doyle Welsh; and sisters, Phyllis Kishbaugh, and Audrey Weaver.
Surviving are a daughter, Jane Heller and husband Henry, Sugarloaf, PA; and a son, Jack Stein and wife Shelli, Harrison City, PA; four grandchildren, Gregg Heller and wife Gabi, Lafayette, NJ; Ronald Heller and wife Tammy, Sugarloaf, PA; Kane Stein and wife Lauren, Harrison City, PA; Dillon Stein and wife Bethanie, Aspinwall, PA; nine great-grandchildren, Morgan, Jackson, Travis, Samuel, Nolan, Clara, Beau, Eliza and Gracelyn.
Her funeral will be held with a Memorial Service on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at 11 am in Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, 467 S. Main St., Conyngham, PA 18219. Burial will follow in Conyngham Union Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 10 am until the time of service. Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (East), 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums, PA is assisting the family with the arrangements.
