Wade Haubert Obituary

Wade B. Haubert Sr., 78, of Eagle Rock, passed away Monday morning, April 22, 2024, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family following a lengthy battle with cancer.


Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Dr. John Roy and Elizabeth (Davenport) Haubert and spent the past 24 years in Eagle Rock, after moving from Allentown.

Wade was a graduate of Franklin High School, Franklin, PA, and Wake Forest University, Winston Salem, NC, where he was a member of the Theta Chi Fraternity. He was deployed in May 1969 to Vietnam and assigned to the 1st Air Cav as an infantry platoon leader and a battalion staff officer, ultimately receiving the Bronze Star with "V" device and the Combat Infantryman's Badge. His tour ended in May 1970. In 1975 he joined the PA Army National Guard and retired after 22 years as a LTC with the 213th ASG. 

Wade was a Regional Sales Manager for Billings Freight Systems in Lexington, NC; for 25 years having retired in 2005. He was a member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, Hazleton.  In his spare time Wade loved playing golf, cheering on his Demon Deacons, the Phillies and the Eagles.

Surviving are his loving wife of 50 years, Barbara Ann (Kreitz); three children, Wade B. Haubert, Jr. and wife Hannah, Chautauqua, NY; Natalie Benco and husband Thomas, Monrovia, MD; and Diane Schoemer and husband Geoffrey, North Huntingdon, PA; seven grandchildren, Liliana and Alivia Benco, Gabrielle and Ryan Schoemer, and Aurora, Zola, and Atticus Haubert; a brother, John Roy Haubert, III. and wife Bonnie, Pennsburg, PA; brother-in-law, Ron Kreitz and wife Lauren, Macungie, PA; and two nephews and four nieces.


 His funeral will be held with a Memorial Service on Saturday April 27, 2024, at 12 PM from Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc. (East), 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums.  Interment will take place at a later date, in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 11 AM until the time of the service.
