Shirley Ann Braziell, 89, of Hazleton, passed away Wednesday evening, March 27, 2024, at her residence in Hazleton, following a four-month illness.
Born in Jim Thorpe, November 30, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Mary (Dujack) Fisher and spent the past 48 years in Hazleton, after moving from Allentown.
Shirley was a 1952 graduate of Allen High School. In her younger years she was a Cheerleader and practiced the art of synchronized swimming. She was a loving wife, mother, and homemaker. She attended Saints Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Beaver Meadows. She was a member of the Breakfast Club Bowling League, the Reddy Wives of PPL, and the Hazleton Garden Club. Shirley enjoyed fishing and water skiing, but adored spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her loving husband Jerry Theodore Braziell who passed away December 6, 2022; a daughter, Danielle Dembrosi, and a cousin, Fred Weslosky.
Surviving are two daughters, Pamela Ferrence and her husband Mark, Hazle Township; and Renee Kokinda and her husband Richard, Whitehaven; 13 grandchildren, Jerrod, Ashleigh, Cody, Jamie, Jocelyn, Jesse, Ethan, Justine, Chelsea, Kevin, Tyler, Cheyenne, and Tray, and 9 great-grandchildren, Jayden, Cecelia, Jaxon, Jayke, Maddox, Mason, Zola, Jade, and Bo; son-in-law, Maurice Dembrosi, Weatherly; a nephew, Daryl Unger and his wife Coleen, Coplay; and a niece, Susie Braziell Costa, TX.
Her funeral will be held with a Memorial Celebration on Monday, April 1, 2024, at 12 PM from Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (East), 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums. Interment will take place privately at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday morning from 11AM until the time of the service.
