Norman W. Fritz

Norman W. Fritz, 85, of Beaver Township, passed away Sunday evening, March 3, 2024, at Sunset Ridge Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Bloomsburg, following a lengthy illness.

Born in Zion Grove on July 8, 1938, he was the son of the late Ellis and Dorothy (Davis) Fritz and spent the past 67 years in Beaver Twp. after moving from Zion Grove.

Norman was the owner and operator of N.W. Fritz Trucking, Bloomsburg for 63 years.  He was a US Army veteran having served from 1957 to 1961.  Norman was a member of Saint Peter's 'Hargers' Union Church of Christ, Bloomsburg.  He was also a member of the Bloomsburg Elks Lodge #436, Caldwell Consistory, Bloomsburg, and Shriners International.  Norman was a hard worker who enjoyed running trucks for his company.

He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by his son Roger W. Fritz, who passed away on February 10, 2016.

Surviving are his loving wife, the former Gloria J. Michael, to whom he was married on November 23, 1957; a son, Gregory Fritz and his wife Susan, Hughesville; a grandson, Daniel Fritz and his fiancée Tiffany Freuler, Beaver Twp.; and several nieces and nephews including Beverly Michael from Beaver Twp.

His funeral will be held Friday, March 8, 2024, at 10:30 AM from Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc. (West), 1265 Rock Glen Road, Rock Glen with continued services at 11 AM in St. Peter's UCC Church, Beaver Twp.  Burial will follow in Harger's Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday evening, March 7, 2024, from 6 PM- 8 PM.
