Kathryn Ann (Hayman) Green

Kathryn "Miss Kate" Ann Green, 68, of Sugarloaf, went to be with her Lord on Saturday evening, April 6, 2024, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.  

 Born in Morgantown, WV, February 16, 1956, she was the daughter of the late William H. and Ruth Elizabeth (Hale) Hayman and spent the past 33 years in Sugarloaf, Pennsylvania

 Miss Kate graduated from Hinsdale Central High School, Hinsdale, IL and received her master's degree from Western Illinois University, Macomb, IL.  She was a dedicated Teacher for MMI Preparatory School, Freeland, for 39 years having retired in 2021. 

She was a faithful member of Outlet Community Church, Dallas, and led the Monday Night Ladies Bible Study, Freeland.  She was past President of The Auxiliary of The Gideons International and led Bible Quiz at several area churches where she touched the lives of many teenagers. Miss Kate enjoyed singing and playing piano at many local churches and nursing homes.  She was an animal lover, especially her Shelties which she trained to compete in numerous agility trials. 

 She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her many dogs and pets.

 Surviving are her loving husband, Douglas Green to whom she was married for 39 years; a brother David Hayman, San Francisco, CA; two sisters, Jean Cox and her husband Thomas, Costa Rica; and Margaret Hayman, Downers Grove, IL; and several nieces, one nephew, two great-nephews and a great-niece.

 Miss Kate's Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April 13, 2024, at 1 PM in Faith Assembly of God Church, 34 Fox Manor Rd, Hazle Township, PA 18202.  Pastor Skye Rogers will officiate the services and will be assisted by Pastor Joseph Adams.  Interment will take place privately at the convenience of her family.  Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory (East), 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums, was entrusted with her cremation.
