Anna M. Polgrean, 82, of Hazleton, passed away suddenly Thursday, April 4, 2024, at her residence in Hazleton, following a brief illness.
Born in Hazleton, November 4, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Agnes (Aleshefski) Bednar and spent her entire life in Hazleton.
Anna graduated from Hazleton High School, class of 1959. She was a Seamstress for Wright's Knitwear, and Geissler Knitting Mill, both of Hazleton. She was also employed as an Aid at Pardee Manor in Hazleton for many years. SS Cyril & Methodius Parish at the Church of St. Joseph, Hazleton. Anna enjoyed working on crossword puzzles and was an avid reader.
She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her loving husband John E. Polgrean, Sr. who passed away April 9, 2008; a granddaughter Brianna Marie; and four brothers, Leonard, Michael, James and Thomas Bednar.
Surviving are two sons, John E. Polgrean, Jr. Drums; and Brian J. Polgrean, Lehighton; a grandson, Lane Hunsinger, Drums; and several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc. (East), 669 West Butler Drive, Drums, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
