Joseph W. Hartman Joseph
W. Hartman, 46, of 2300 Fifth Ave, New York City, passed away unexpectedly
Friday afternoon at his home. Born
in Easton, July 8, 1964, he was the son of Nona (Emery) McGrath and George
McGrath, Nescopeck. He spent the
past 28 years in New York. He had
been employed as a fork lift operator. All
arrangements will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
Walter Withers June 30, 1932 - September 1, 2010 Walter Withers, 78, of Main Street, Conyngham, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday at his home. Born in Newark, NJ on June 30, 1932, he was the son of the late Robert and May (Peters) Withers. He was employed as an insulation installer with Fuel Savers, Hazleton. Walter was also a U.S. Army Veteran and served during the Korean War. All services will be held privately and at the convenience of the family. Burial will take place in Ft. Indiantown Gap Cemetery. Antoinette F. Carberry December 6, 1922 - September 1, 2010 Antoinette F. Carberry, 87, of Sleepy Hollow Road Drums, passed away Wednesday morning at Butler Valley Manor Nursing Home following a one year illness. Born in West Hazleton, on December 6, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Antoni and Wiktoria (Sczycka) Palys and had resided in Drums for the past 40 years after moving from North Bergen NJ where she had resided for 22 years. Antoinette had also lived in West Hazleton. She was a member of Good Shepherd RC Church, Drums. She was employed as a clerk for Goldsworthy's Store, Drums, having retired in 1985. Antoinette enjoyed rock collecting (minerology) and coin collecting. She was preceded in death in addition to her parents by her husband Robert V. Carberry who passed away June 5, 2000; a granddaughter Ann Carberry in 1976; brothers John and Charles; sisters Wiktoria Palys; Anne Martinick; Rose Fillipelli; Victoria Modlick; Josephine Podraza; and Sophia Nevadomski. Surviving are three sons, William R. Carberry; Robert J. Carberry and his companion Anita Zius, all of Drums; Anthony C. Carberry and his wife Rose; Wapwallopen; three grandchildren, Jennifer, Amber, and Brittany Carberry; one great-grandson, Michael Williams; and many nieces and nephews. Her funeral will be held Saturday at 9:30 am from the Harman Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc. (East) 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums. The Reverend Jack Lambert will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Good Shepherd R.C. Church, Drums. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Anthony R. "Butch" Trovitch, Jr. Anthony
R. “Butch” Trovitch, Jr., 64, of St. Johns Road, Drums, passed away Saturday
evening at his home. Born
in Hazleton, April 29, 1946, he was the son of the late Anthony R. and
Antoinette (Duksta) Trovitch, Sr. and spent the past 15 years in Drums after
moving from Hazleton. He
was a retired Vo-Tech Instructor for Hazleton Area School District, where he
taught the Auto Body Curriculum. He
enjoyed attending car shows and races. Butch
enjoyed restoring old hot rods. He
was a very talented artist and enjoyed using that talent to customize the cars
he restored. Butch
served with the US Army during the Vietnam Era. He
was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by a brother Gerald. Surviving
are a daughter Dawn Shebelock, her husband Anthony and their children Maria and
Anthony Jude, all of Drums; and a son Jonathan, Pardeesville; three brothers
Lawrence and his wife Mary Ann, West Hazleton; Robert, Berwick; and Terrence and
his wife Jeanne, Hazleton. His
funeral will be held with a Memorial Service Wednesday evening at 8 pm from
Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (East) 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums.
Interment will be held privately in Sky View Memorial Park, Hometown.

Suzanne Jane Clark Suzanne Jane Clark, 68, formerly of Conyngham, passed away Friday evening at Hazleton General Hospital.
She was a Long Island native born in Forest
Hills, NY, April 1, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Florence
(Lepow) Sotland and spent the past 9 years in the valley after moving from
California.
She was a retired elementary school teacher and
reading specialist in Long Island, NY. No one loved children more than
Suzanne. She was an avid lover of reading, animals, gardening, art, and
cooking. Surviving are two daughters Jennifer Clark, California; and Amy Beth Clark, Havertown, PA; a grandson Grayden Clark Sadowsky; sister Marsha Bell and her husband Eric, Conyngham, PA; niece Lauren Bell O'Malley and a nephew Matthew Bell.
All services will be held privately at the

Donald Beall MacElwee, Sr. Donald
Beall MacElwee, Sr., 75, of Eagle Rock, passed away Friday morning at Hazleton
General Hospital. Born
in Wilmington, DE, July 9, 1935, he was the son of the late Irwin and Helen
(Collins) MacElwee and spent the past three years in Eagle Rock after moving
from Valley Forge. He
was a retired self-employed in Sales Engineer.
He enjoyed playing golf and was an avid historian.
He also liked to tinker around his home and invent new and useful items. Surviving
are his life companion Suzanne Grosse; three children Lisa MacElwee-Todd and her
husband Gregor, Martinsville, NJ; Donald B. Jr., Temecula, CA; and Linda
MacElwee and her companion Andy Balestracci, Boonville, CA; four grandchildren
Ian and Graham Todd, Katherine Lynn MacElwee, and John Harrison; and a sister
Marilyn Throckmorton, Carlsbad, CA. All
services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Memorial

Bolinsky Walter
J. “Bo” Bolinsky, 78, of Mt. Shadow Lane, Bloomsburg, passed away Tuesday
afternoon at Porter Hospital-Valparaiso Campus, Valparaiso, IN following a short
illness. Born
in Bloomsburg, August 18, 1931, he was the son of the late Brunnock and Agnes (Alkosky)
Bolinsky. He spent the past 16 years
in Beaver Township after moving from Englishtown, NJ He
was a US Army veteran of the Korean War, having been held captive as a Prisoner
of War for 33 months. He attained
the rank of Corporal while serving with the Second Infantry Division during the
war. He was a member of the Veterans
of Foreign Wars, and was a life member of the Ex-Prisoner of War Association and
the Disabled American Veterans. Prior
to retiring he had been employed by S&S Applicators, a roofing and siding
contractor in Rahway, NJ. He enjoyed
working in his vegetable garden and spending time outdoors. He
was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by a brother Albert; and
sisters Agnes Rupert and Evelyn Deihl. Surviving
are his wife of the past 54 years, the former Carol Yutko; a son Daniel,
Bloomsburg; two grandchildren Shawn and Karissa Bolinsky; a sister Veronica
Smith, Harrisburg; and several nieces and nephews. His
funeral will be held Monday at 10 am from Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory
Inc. (West) 1265 Rock Glen Road with the Rev. Patrick McDowell officiating.
Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday 2-4 and 6-9 pm.
Burial will take place with Military Honors Wednesday, September 8, 2010
at 2 pm in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA.
Franklin D. Myers January 3, 1942 - August 16, 2010 Franklin D. Myers, 68, of Fall Street, Rock Glen, passed away Monday evening at Bloomsburg Health Care Center, Bloomsburg. Born in Rock Glen on January 3, 1942, he was the son of the late Earl and Edna (Welsh) Myers, Sr. and resided all his life in Rock Glen. Prior to his retirement, he had worked for Black Creek Township, R.G. Silk Mill in Bloomsburg, and Sadock’s Manufacturing in Sybertsville. He was a member of Trinity UCC Church, Rock Glen. Frank loved the outdoors, and enjoyed hunting and camping. He also bowled in many leagues at Valley Lanes, Sybertsville. He was preceded in death in addition to his parents by brothers Harvey Welsh, Joel, George “Allie” and Eugene Myers, Sr. and a sister Margaret Force. Surviving are his wife of the past 30 years on August 23, 2010, Linda (Thrash) Myers, three daughters, Michelle Moser and her husband Joshua, Fern Glen; Jessica and Kelly Myers, both of Rock Glen; one granddaughter, Keeley Moser; two brothers Kenneth Myers and his wife Sondra, Bloomsburg; Earl Myers and his wife Barbara, Ocala, FL; four sisters Susanne Piasecki, Mt. Grove; Rosemary Palesky, Hazleton; Bonnie Adams and her husband Raymond, Kay Riotto and her husband Joe, all of Rock Glen; and several nieces and nephews. His funeral will be held Saturday with a memorial service at 6:00 p.m. in Black Creek U.M. Church, Sugarloaf. Friends may call at the church Saturday evening from 5 p.m. until the time of service. seamstress for Sadock’s Factory, Sybertsville, and Public Shirt Factory,
Leona was a member of
She was also a founder of the Valley Girls Softball, and manager of the Dinklacker’s Dolls Softball Team. She was very active in the Girl Scouts and the Brownie troops in Drums, and was an avid bowler playing for the Luchi Construction Bowling Team.
She was preceded in death in addition to her parents by her husband J. John Luchi who passed away January 27, 1996; a son-in-law Frank Bereznak, July 23, 1998; sisters Irene Arnold, Margaret Nieman Novotny, Helen LaBanc, Mary Pepas, and brothers John, Joseph, and Andrew Prokop.
Surviving are her daughter Joyce Bereznak, Conyngham; two grandchildren John Bereznak and his wife Nancy, Hazle Twp; Sherry Bereznak, Conyngham; one great-granddaughter Grace Bereznak; and many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held
