Emily P. Kadelak, 87, of Hazle Township, passed away Thursday evening at the Pavilion at St. Luke Manor following a brief illness.

Born in Stockton, March 17, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Mitchell) Hupczey and spent her entire life in the Hazleton area.

Prior to her retirement in 1980, she had worked in the dietary department at Hazleton General Hospital.  She attended St. Gabriel’s RC Church, Hazleton.

She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by brothers John and Joseph Hupczey; a sister Dorothy Hupczey; a step-sister Anna Pasternak; and a step-brother Michael Baran.

Surviving are her husband of the past 69 years, Joseph G. Kadelak; four children Michael J. Kadelak, Stockton; Joseph M. Kadelak and his wife Bonnie, Sugarloaf; Robert E. Kadelak, Sterling Heights, MI; and Marlene Kadelak, Stockton; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held privately at the convenience of the family from Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (East) 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums.

Sorry to here of Mrs K passing.
As a younger teen lad she always made our group feel comfortable and welcome into her home.
I hope to be lucky and see her again in the after life.
