Cheryl L. Zemany, 62, of Rock Glen, passed away Monday afternoon at Hazleton General Hospital following a lengthy illness.

Born in Hazleton, January 16, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Donald L. and Martha (Wagner) Stackhouse.  She spent the past 36 years in Rock Glen after moving from Hazleton.

Cheryl was a homemaker, and had also worked as a file clerk.  She was a member of Rainbow’s End Greyhound Rescue of NEPA.  She was a breast cancer survivor, and enjoyed gardening and flowers.

Surviving are her husband of the past 20 years, Larry G. Zemany, Sr.; three children Kristi Benko, Hazle Township; Tammi Williams, Tresckow and her husband Alan; and Christopher Benko and his wife Becki, Bloomsburg; two sisters Donna Kisthardt and her husband Vance, McAdoo; and Lori J. Golias, Nescopeck; five grandchildren, Tara, Susan, Taylor, and Alan Williams, Jr. and Brandi Benko;three step-sons Larry Zemany, Jr. Sugarloaf; Stephen Zemany, Berwick; and Eric Zemany, Nescopeck; and several nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held with a Memorial Service, Thursday at 11 am from Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (West) 1265 Rock Glen Road, Rock Glen.  Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday morning from 10 am until the time of the service.
