William E. Singley, 71, of Nuremberg passed away Tuesday morning at his home surrounded by his loving family and friends.

Born in Zion Grove, he was the son of the late Gertrude (Hawk) Singley and Floyd E. Singley Sr. and had lived most of his life in the Nuremberg and Zion Grove area.

Bill was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Nuremberg, 32nd degree Mason with F&AM Lodge # 737, Frackville, Nuremberg Community Ambulance Assoc. for over 40 years, Nuremberg-Weston Vol. Fire Co, and was a past member of the Caldwell Consistory of the Scotish Right, Bloomsburg and Irem Temple Shrine, Dallas.

Bill graduated West Hazleton High School in 1964, and took several courses at Penn State, Hazleton in career management and other Continuing Education credit courses.  He worked at All Steel, Valmont as a production supervisor until plant closed in 2003, a security officer for Eagle Rock Resorts for 14 years, an assistant protection associate for Walmart DC 7030 Pottsville for 7 years, he worked for the PA Game Commission Law Enforcement Division as a Deputy Wildlife Conservation officer as well as Hunter/Trapper Education Instructor for 37 years, Bill also served as a North Union and PA State Constable, and was a North Union Twp. Supervisor in the early 1970’s.

He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by his step mother Helen (Johnson) Singley, his wife, the former Patricia Ann Barron, brother Todd Dale Singley and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Surviving are his children, Trudy Singley, Mary Beth Singley, Desiree Singley, and William Singley all of Nuremberg and Ryan Singley and his wife Jennifer, Hazle Twp;  five grandchildren, Keana Singley, Marco Lopez Singley, Jason Singley, Dante Singley and Brody Singley; great-grandson, Blake Singley; brothers and sisters, Catherine Hetherington and husband Lawrence (Wes), Zion Grove; Floyd Singley Jr. and wife Carmean; Carl Singley and wife Kathy; Debbie Wilcox; Terri Weikel and husband Gary, all of Zion Grove; along with several nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held with a Memorial Service Friday at 11:00 am from Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory (West), 1265 Rock Glen Road, Rock Glen, with his pastor Rev. Phil Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Nuremberg Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday evening from 5-8 PM.
