William C. Chupela Sr., 89 formerly of Tomhicken passed away Sunday at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Hazleton.

Born in Hazleton January 10, 1927 he was the son of the late William and Anna (Lukatch) Chupela.

He was a retired finisher in the textile industry having retired from Penn Transfer, an avid hunter and fisherman William enjoyed shooting trap and range shooting and was a past member of Elk Horn Rod and Gun Club, and also enjoyed working in his garage.

Preceding him death, in addition to his parents was his wife Bernadine (Zunski) Chupela, two sons George and John Chupela, brothers Emil, Joseph, John, Albert, and Peter Chupela, sisters Leona Pisack, Helen Nevadal, Anna and Mary Chupela.

Surviving are his children, Patricia Dixon and her husband Andy, Oriental NC; Joseph Chupela and his wife Donna, Florida; William Chupela, Jr., his wife Bernadette and David Chupela and his wife Denise all of Tomhicken; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be made to the NRA 11250 Waples Mill Road, Fairfax, VA 22030.

His funeral arrangements will be held privately at the convenience of the family under the direction of Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (East) 669 West Butler Drive, Drums, PA 18222.  Online condolences may be entered and more information is available at www.harmanfuneral.com.
