Thomas A. Yurcho, Sr., 87, formerly of Nuremberg passed away late Wednesday evening at Fritzingertown Senior Living Community, Drums where he had been a resident for the past three and a half years.
Born in Fern Glen, November 15, 1928, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Petrisko) Yurcho. Prior to moving to Fritzingertown he had spent 40 years in Nuremberg after moving from Fern Glen.
He had worked as a Paint Foreman for Strick in Berwick, before retiring in 1994.
He was a US Army veteran of the late part of WWII and the Korean War.
He was preceded in death in addition to his parents by his wife the former Ruth Klingerman, to whom he was married 60 years before she passed away January 28, 2013; two brothers Joseph and John; and a sister Eleanor Pierce.
Surviving are three sons Thomas Jr. "Toot" and his wife Bonnie, Nuremberg; Mark and his wife Genine, Zion Grove; and Scott, Nuremberg; ten grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; a sister Marie Nenstiel, Florida; and many nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held Monday at 10 am from Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (West) 1265 Rock Glen Road, Rock Glen, with the Rev. Philip Smith officiating. Burial will follow back in the Nuremberg Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday evening 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
