Sherry M. Hildebrand, 67, of Sybertsville, went to be with her Lord, early Friday morning at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Hazleton, following a courageous eight year battle with cancer.
Born in Hazleton, January 30, 1949, she was the daughter of Constance M. (Fritzinger) Snyder, Drums and the late William G. Snyder, Sr. She had spent most of her life in the Sugarloaf/Drums Valley.
Sherry was a secretary and office manager for Karchner Refrigeration, Drums, for 22 years. She was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Drums. As a young girl she played softball and was a girl scout. As an adult she was a girl scout leader, softball coach, and Sunday school teacher. She enjoyed reading, gardening, flowers, and crafts such as scrapbooking and cake decorating.
Surviving in addition to her mother, are her husband Robert C. Hildebrand, to whom she would have been married 45 years on September 18th; three daughters Kimberly Houseknecht and her husband Karl, Palmyra, VA; Wendy Thomas and her husband James, Conyngham; and Jodi Gregory and her husband Chris, Drums; seven grandchildren Lauren, Amber, and Trey Houseknecht; Paige and Taylor Thomas; and Cameron and Melina Gregory; a brother William G. Snyder Jr. and his wife Nancy, Drums; and several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held Monday at 10:30 am from Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (East) 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums. Family friend, Pastor Sandy Murphy will officiate the services. Interment will follow in Conyngham Union Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday evening 6-8 pm.
