Samuel J. Vacante, Jr., 52, of Drums passed away Sunday evening.

Born in Hazleton, May 20, 1963, he was the son of the late Samuel J. and Josephine (Stanziola) Vacante, Sr., and spent most of his life in the Hazleton and Drums area.

Sam was a graduate of Penn State University with a degree in engineering and worked as a machinist for Meadow-Burke, Humboldt.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and was especially proud of his sons and future daughter-in-law.  He was a member of the NRA, loved cars and motorcycles, and was a talented artist.

Surviving are his sons Samuel C. and his fiancé Sheila Barron, Hazleton; and Brandon A., Drums; and his significant other Jennifer Lyn Daley, Brandonville.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 11 am in Most Precious Blood RC Church, 131 E. Fourth St., Hazleton.  Friends may call at the church Saturday from 10 am until the time of the Mass.
