Ruth M. Yannes

Ruth M. Yannes, 92, of Nuremberg passed away early Sunday morning at Heritage Hill Senior Living Community, Weatherly.

Born in Nuremberg, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Mary (DeManincor) Yannes.

Ruth was a member of Sacred Heart RC Church in Weston, a member of the Nuremberg High School class of 1941 and a graduate of St. Agnes Hospital School of Nursing.  She worked as a private duty nurse in Philadelphia for many years, as well as in Hazleton area hospitals.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Catherine Y. Primiano, and five brothers: Roy Jr., Stephen, Edward, Walter and Victor Yannes.

She was the beloved aunt of Lois Kolesar, Michael Primiano, Karen Colaiacolo, Victor Yannes Jr., Patricia Mann, Thomas Yannes, and Carol Best.  She is also survived by many great and great-great nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Friday at Sacred Heart RC Church, 554 Main St, Weston.  Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, 49 S Hunter Hwy, Drums.  There will be no public viewing.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.  Harman Funeral Homes and Crematory Inc. (West), 1265 Rock Glen Rd., is assisting the family with arrangements.  Online condolences may be entered and more information is available at www.harmanfuneral.com.
