Rocco A. “Pinky” Colasurdo, 73, of Drums, passed away Saturday morning at Hospice of the Sacred Heart in Dunmore.
Born on January 19, 1943 he was the son of the late Rocco and Lucy (Pape) Colasurdo and spent the last 20 years in Drums after moving from Hazleton.
Rocco was a member of Most Precious Blood Church in Hazleton. He was also a member of the US Army, serving in Korea during the Vietnam War, and a member of the American Legion Post 0795, Drums. Rocco loved working with computers, fishing and hunting.
He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by his son Paul A. Colasurdo, who passed away October 13, 2005, and his sister Rosemarie Pawlush.
Surviving are his loving wife, the former Janice Grohol, with whom he had been married for 36 years on March 24, 2016; sons Mark Colasurdo and Stephen Seaman both of Drums; a daughter Nadine Seaman, Wilkes-Barre; children Rocco Colasurdo, Debra Lawrence, and Donna Colasurdo; five grandchildren, a great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews also survive.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 11am in MPB Church, 131 E. 4th St., Hazleton, followed by burial in Calvary Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to call at the church from 10 am until the time of the service.
