Robert L. “Butch” Kamerzel, 92, of Nuremberg passed away Tuesday morning at Fritzingertown Senior Living Community in Drums.
Born in Nuremberg on May 10th, 1923 he was the son of the late Roy and Mabel (Smith) Kamerzel and spent all of his life in Nuremberg.
Robert was a US Army Veteran of WWII and was the owner of Kamerzel Fuel Service. He was a member of Emmanuel UCC Church, Nuremberg, the American Legion in Nuremberg, the Elks Lodge in Bloomsburg, the Elk Horn Rod and Gun Club in Bloomsburg, and was an avid fisherman.
He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by his sisters Ruth Martz, and Thelma Fickner.
Surviving are his wife of the past 35 years, Catherine (Siegel) Kamerzel, Nuremberg; a daughter Roberta Humphrey and her husband Robert, Virginia; a son David Kamerzel and his wife Mary, Mt. Grove; a stepdaughter Leslie Hoffman, Nuremberg; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, a sister June Schlauch, Nuremberg; and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held Friday at 11 am from Harman Funeral Home and Crematory (West) 1265 Rock Glen Road, Rock Glen. The reverend Lou Aita will officiate the service, burial will follow at Nuremberg Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday evening from 6 to 8 pm.
