Ray A. Kirchdoerfer, 80, of Hazle Twp., passed away late Sunday evening at his residence.
Born in Sugarloaf, July 28, 1936, he was the son of the late Warren and Florence (Phile) Kirchdoerfer and had spent the last 25 years in Hazle Twp. after moving from Conyngham.
Ray was an industrial mechanic for All-Steel, Hazleton, having retired in 2000. He was an avid outdoorsman and was a member of Park Crest Fish and Game, Ringtown, PA, Shady Nook Hunting Club in Sullivan Co. where he was the Vice President and Monroeton Gun Club, in Bradford Co. Ray graduated West Hazleton High School in 1955, and enjoyed woodworking.
He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by a sister, Marjorie Kinney; a brother, James Kirchdoerfer; and a step-grandson John Paul Labanosky IV.
Surviving are his companion, Frances A. Labanosky, Hazle Township.; stepson, John Paul Labanosky III and his wife Veronica, Beaver Meadows; step-granddaughter, Nicholene Labanosky and her husband Brandon Jasper, Boston, MA; son, Alan Kirchdoerfer, Drums; a daughter, Diane Martz, her husband Martin, and their sons Travis and Tyler, Oneida.
His funeral will be held Thursday at 11:00 am from Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (East), 669 West Butler Drive, Drums. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Drums. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday morning from 9:30-11:00am.
