Phyllis Ann (Scalise) Belletiere

September 27, 1948 ~ May 28, 2017 (age 68) 68 Years Old

Phyllis Ann Belletiere, 68, of Conyngham, passed away Sunday evening at St. Luke’s Hospital, Coaldale Campus, following a one-year illness.

Born in Hazleton, September 27, 1948, she was the daughter of the late James and Carmella (Vito) Scalise and spent the past 23 years in Conyngham after moving from Hazleton.

Phyllis was a homemaker and also bookkeeper for Michael’s Lawn Care, Conyngham.  She was a member of Holy Annunciation Parish at the Church of St. Gabriel, Hazleton.  She was a 1966 graduate of Hazleton High School where she was a Majorette and member of the Color Guard.  She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, crocheting, and most especially spending time with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her husband James, who passed away October 17, 2002; and a son James, who passed away April 29, 2005.

Surviving are three children Lori Eckert and her husband John, Jim Thorpe; Michael Belletiere and his companion Joanie Dancho, Conyngham; and Carmella Belletiere and her companion Ryan Rogers, Pardeesville; six grandchildren Tiffany, James Jr, and Vanessa Belletiere, Julian Rogers, Alex and Carson Eckert; a great grandson Mathew Ryan Jr.; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends and family are invited to attend a graveside service to be held Thursday at 11:30 am in Calvary Cemetery, 49 S. Hunter Highway, Drums.  There will be no public viewing
