Pearl M. (Broyan) Sipple

Pearl M. Sipple, 95, of Drums, formerly of St. Johns, passed away Saturday afternoon at Fritzingertown Senior Living Community where she had resided for the past two years.

Born in Hazleton, June 29, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Asson) Broyan and has spent most of her life in Drums.

Pearl was a member of Good Shepherd R.C. Church, Drums, and a charter member of the Lioness Lions Club for over 37 years where she was a past president and treasurer.  She was awarded a Fellow Award from the Lions of PA Foundation for Meritorious Support in 2012.  Pearl was the owner of Sun Valley Meats, Drums and enjoyed gardening, cooking, dancing and music. Above all, she most dearly enjoyed spending time with her daughter, son in-law, and granddaughter and enjoyed all the family vacations and recitals that Katie made sure she attended. 

Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her loving husband, John G. Sipple, who passed in 1978; a sister, Lucille Rinehamer, and half-brother, Fred Broyan.

Surviving are a daughter, Judith Yamulla and her husband Joseph, Drums; granddaughter, Katharine Yamulla, Bayside Queens, NY; honorary granddaughter, Jennifer Stone, Bayside Queens, NY; sister, Betty Betterly, Drums; half-sister, Lillian Urenovich, Freeland; and a half-brother Joseph Broyan, Ireland.

Her funeral will be held with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in Good Shepherd R.C. Church, Drums on Wednesday at 11am with the Rev. Connell McHugh celebrating the Mass. Burial will take place privately in Calvary Cemetery, Drums.  Friends may call at the church on Wednesday morning from 10am to 11am.
