She leaves behind her husband, Jerome Alvin Leichtman; son, Walter Haentjens Jr., Grandchildren, Laurence Parker Stone, Carver Haentjens Stone, Nicole Haentjens Traore, and Walter Haentjens III. She also leaves behind a daughter-in-law, Katherine Seatter Haentjens and a nephew Orville A. Dean. She was preceded in death by her brother Bert Dean, son, Grove Dean Haentjens, and daughter Margaret Haentjens Stone.

Nancy and Jerry, her husband, were married in 1972 and had many great years together traveling, enjoying each other, and hosting dinner parties.

Nancy volunteered extensively all throughout her life. She was a board member of the Former Easter Seals Society, on the Board of Governors of the Hazleton Art League, on the board of directors of the United Charities and Children’s Home, as well as for Meals on Wheels where she delivered meals for twenty years.

Along with a love for nurturing and helping others, she was greatly involved in her church, the First Presbyterian Church of Hazleton where she was an ordained Elder and also a member of the choir for 22 years.

To those who knew her well, they knew a caring, devoted, beautiful woman who would do anything to help others. She was an avid reader, especially history, and was delighted being with her family. One of her passions was listening to classical music and to bagpipes. She will be greatly missed by all.
