Miriam Rose (Marhelko) Frederick

Miriam Rose Frederick, 87, of Hazleton, passed away unexpectedly Friday afternoon at her home.

Born in Fern Glen, May 24, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Hazel (McGlynn) Marhelko.  After growing up in Fern Glen, she moved to Manville, NJ, where she resided until relocating back to Hazleton 25 years ago.

Prior to her retirement, Miriam was employed as an inspector for Ethicon Johnson & Johnson, Somerville, NJ for 35 years.  She enjoyed playing bingo and the lottery, as well as completing the Jumble puzzles in the newspaper.

She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by brothers Michael, Thomas, and John Marhelko.

Surviving are two sons, Dennis Frederick, Manville, NJ; and Royce Frederick and his wife Victoria, South Bound Brook, NJ; four grandchildren Daynon and Dennis Frederick, Jr.; Kira Levy, and Heather Weinrick; two great-granddaughters Isabella Frederick and Isabella Weinrick; four sisters Denise Davis and her husband Rick, Mt. Grove; Lorraine Harker, Tomhicken; Jane Lapczynski, Piscataway, NJ; and Jean Ann Young and her husband Bob, Clifton, NJ; and many nieces and nephews.

All services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
