Mildred "Millie" A. (Thomas) Lipinski

June 21, 1934 ~ January 19, 2017 (age 82) 82 Years Old

Mildred “Millie” A. Lipinski, 82, a resident of Berwick Retirement Village, Berwick, passed away unexpectedly Thursday morning at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville surrounded by her family.

Born in Scotch Valley on June 21, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Mildred (Cipriano) Thomas and had lived in Sybertsville, Sugarloaf, and Conyngham before residing in Berwick.

Mildred attended Beaver Twp. High School, was employed as a machine operator at many local garment factories during her working career and was a member of St. John Bosco R.C. Church where she served on the Alter & Rosary Society and was a cook at the rectory.  She was a member of the 4H club as a child.  She loved to be with her children and granddaughters, loved to cook, travel and to be with her family and friends.  The family would like to thank the staff of the Berwick Retirement Village for its compassion and friendship which Millie enjoyed during her stay with them.

She was preceded in death in addition to her parents, by her husband, Richard Lipinski Sr. who passed away September 16, 1988, an infant sister Eleanor Thomas and a brother John Thomas.

Surviving are a daughter Gail Wanko and her husband Dave,West Hazleton; a son Richard Lipinski Jr. and his wife Trish, White Haven; four grandchildren Ashley and Amber Wanko, and Abby and Alexandra Lipinski; a brother Joe Thomas and his wife Donna, Weatherly; sister Marian Oroski, Palm Bay, FL;  two sister in laws Marian Bishop, Rochester, NY, and Carol McCarthy, Hazleton; and many nieces and nephews also survive.

Her funeral will be held Wednesday at 9:30 am from Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (East) 669 West Butler Drive, Drums followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. John Bosco R.C. Church, Conyngham.  Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Drums. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6-8 pm.
