Michael J. Kelly, 101, of Sugarloaf, passed away Thursday evening at the VA Medical Center, Wilkes Barre.
Born in New Philadelphia, January 23, 1916, he was the son of the late Stanislaus and Anna (Baranauckute) Kulikauckas and had lived in Jim Thorpe prior to moving to Sugarloaf.
Mike served in the US Army during WWII and was employed by the Pennsylvania Fish Commission for many years and later retired from the Jim Thorpe School District in 1978.
He was a member of St. John Bosco RC Church, Sugarloaf and a secular Franciscan of the Holy Dormition Fraternity, Sybertsville.
He was preceded in death in addition to his parents, to his first wife, the former Margaret Hanas, his second wife, the former Louise Gallagher, and brothers Vincent and Frank.
Surviving are his brother Edward, MD, and many nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held Tuesday at 10:30am from Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (West), 1265 Rock Glen Road, Rock Glen, followed by Divine Liturgy at 11:00 am in Holy Dormition Chapel, Sybertsville. Internment will take place privately at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday evening from 6-8 PM.
