Michael M Anderko

Michael M. Anderko, 75, of Freeland, passed away Thursday morning at the Manor at St. Luke Village, Hazleton.

Born in Hazleton on August 6, 1940 he was the son of Michael P. and Anna (Bobby) Anderko and spent the last 35 years in Freeland after moving from Milnesville.

Prior to retiring, Michael worked in the foundry at Barrett and Haentjens in Hazleton.  He was a member of Ss. Cyril and Methodius Parrish at St. Joseph’s R.C. Church, Hazleton. 

He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by two brothers Richard Anderson and Lawrence Anderko.

Surviving are his wife, the former Dolores Costello, to whom he would have been married 50 years on April 16, 2016, a daughter Cindy Anderko, Freeland and her fiancé Louis Grauzalis; a sister Julieann Onderko, Hazleton; a brother Robert Anderko, Hazleton; and several nieces and nephews. 

His Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 10 am Ss. Cyril and Methodius Parrish at St. Joseph’s R.C. Church, 604 N. Laurel St. Hazleton, with the Rev. Michael Piccola celebrating the Mass. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Drums.  Friends may call at the church Monday morning from 9 until the time of the Mass.
