Matthew Grieco Obituary

Matthew R. Grieco, 83, of Drums, passed away Tuesday morning at his home following a short illness.

Born in New Rochelle, NY, April 14, 1934, he was the son of the late Mathew and Carolyn (Francisco) Grieco and spent the past 11 years in Drums after moving from Cranford, NJ.

Matthew was a US Navy Veteran of the Korean War.  He worked as a building supervisor for ATT, in New Jersey and Manhattan, NY.  He was a member of Good Shepherd RC Church, Drums, and the Knights of Columbus.

Surviving are his wife the past 57 years, the former Frances Montemurro; three children Christine E. Mellon and her husband John, Drums; Steven M. Grieco, Union, NJ; and Lisa C. Dedics and her husband Frank, Drums; five grandchildren Matthew, Nicholas, and Daniel Grieco; and Carli and Lindsey Dedics.

His funeral will be held Saturday at 10 am with a Mass of Christian Burial in Good Shepherd RC Church, 87 S. Hunter Highway, Drums.  The Rev. Connell McHugh will celebrate the Mass and Christine Mellon will offer a eulogy.  Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Drums.  Pallbearers will be Matthew and Daniel Grieco, and Carli Dedics, grandchildren; David, Michael, and John Montemurro, and Darryl Mintzer, nephews.
