Marvin “Tim” Snyder, 71, of Drums, passed away Saturday morning at the Gardens at Butler Valley Manor, Drums after a brief illness.

Born in Hilltop, PA he was the son of the late Marvin and Mildred (Smith) Snyder and had resided in Drums for the past 11 years after moving from Elroy, PA.

Marvin along with his wife Linda were owners of Snyder’s Country Pub in Elroy, PA and Snyder’s Backstreet Pub in Drums, PA.  He was a member of Saint Peters Lutheran Church, Hilltown.  Marvin was a US Army Veteran during the Vietnam War and received the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.  He loved Corvettes, was an avid sports fan, was especially fond of Nascar and his favorite driver Dale Earnhardt, Sr.  Marvin’s greatest joy came from owning and operating his pub with his wife Linda.

He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by a sister, Marvian Young.

Surviving are his loving wife, the former Linda Sites, with whom he had celebrated 42 years of marriage on September 28th, two sisters, Robin Carlen and her husband Bernie, Hilltown, PA; and Jane Dale, Tucson, AZ; several nieces and nephews also survive.   

All services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.  Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory (East), 669 West Butler Drive, Drums, is assisting the family with arrangements.
