Joseph Cassidy of Mountain Grove, passed away on August 28th at the age of 75.

Born and raised in Boston, MA to parents Rose and Joseph.  Joe would travel to the University of Wyoming where he had a distinguished football career.  He was a starter on the university’s nationally ranked Sun and Sugar Bowl teams in 1967 and 68, which would result in his enshrinement in the school’s athletic hall of fame.  Following his academic career, Joe served as both a teacher and sports coach at several schools before moving on to a distinguished career as a race horse trainer.  Joe finished his career running athletic programs at Dallas State Prison.  He was a passionate and vocal follower of politics with a similar vocalness for his beloved Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. Joe was a member of St. John Bosco RC Church, Sugarloaf. 

Surviving are his wife, Bernice; two sons, Dustin, his wife Nicole, and their daughter Alexandria, Philadelphia; and PJ, Virginia Beach, VA; and a sister, Maureen and her partner Mary, North Sandwich, NH.

Services will be held privately by the family.  Harman Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. (West), 1265 Rock Glen Rd., Rock Glen, is assisted the family with the cremation.
